Great episode, people.

I especially enjoyed it because my only 2 Olympic experiences this year were 1) trying to find the opening ceremony online, and not being able to, and 2) watching 15 mins. of live coverage, which was, wait for it... beach volleyball!

Denise

I watched it through CBC, so I can't comment on NBC or the commentator there (we did have some really annoying McDonalds commercials, though) I didn't really sit and watch for long, but the olympics was always on and being watched by someone, so sometimes I'd watch for a bit. Unfortunately I completely missed the beach volleyball. :P All I saw was diving, running, weight-lifting, and I think it's called pole-vaulting.

Great episode, as usual!

The place online for Olympics coverage was http://www.nbcolympics.com - it's still up, so you can go now and check it out if you want to see what was available. I don't know how I figured that out, though. Maybe Google?

The site was deficient in at least one area that I know about. I wanted to check out which gymnasts had scored high enough in qualifying to make the individual event finals, but I could not find that information ANYWHERE. I could see the names with the results after the competition was held, but not before, and it was irritating.

And yes, there was entirely too much coverage of beach volleyball, too much snark from Bob Costas, and too little focus on Michael Phelps' relaymates. Ugh.
